High School Volunteer Role Description (Resume Building Team)

What You’ll Do:

    •    Receive basic information from a Sacred Valley Project graduate.

    •    Use a provided resume template to help create a polished resume for the graduate.

    •    Submit the completed resume for review by a professional mentor.

    •    Review feedback and complete final resume.

    •    Optionally, you can opt in to be involved in offering basic LinkedIn help or sharing tips for job or internship searches.

Time Commitment:

    •    Each resume typically takes 1–2 hours to complete.

    •    Flexible schedule—volunteers can help with 1 or more resumes as time allows.

Impact:

Your work will help provide the graduates with a professional resume they can use to apply for jobs, internships, or higher education—an essential step in building their future.

 

 

Professional Volunteer Role Description (Resume Reviewer & Mentor)

What You’ll Do:

    •    Review draft resumes created by high school volunteers for Sacred Valley Project graduates.

    •    Offer simple, practical feedback to improve clarity, professionalism, and impact.

    •    Optionally, provide brief career advice, job search tips, or encouragement related to your field of expertise.

Time Commitment:

    •    Each resume review typically takes 15–30 minutes.

    •    Professionals can review one or multiple resumes based on their availability.

Impact:

Your feedback will help these young women from rural Peru present themselves confidently as they apply for jobs, internships, or further education—empowering them to take the next step in their lives.

 

 

Program Plan

 

     1.    The Girls (Mentees)

    •    Fill out a simple form including:

              •    Basic personal info

              •    Education

              •    Skills

              •    Career interests or goals

              •    Volunteer or work experience (if any)

    2.    High School Volunteers

    •    Receive the filled form + a resume template given by me.

    •    Create a draft resume based on the information provided.

    •    They will have a quick checklist so all resumes look good (font, layout, basic English corrections).

    3.    Professional Mentors

    •    Receive filled form and resume draft

    •    Review content

    •    Provide suggestions for improvement

    4.    High School Volunteers

    •    Receive suggestions and edits from professional mentor.

    •    Revise and complete resume using feedback

    5.    Final Resume

    •    I will send the final version back to the girl.
